Gulgong and Mudgee District First World War Roll of Honor Middle Image Image Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background This war memorial is a paper roll of honor, presented in a timber frame behind glass. It contains a printed list of names of veterans from the Gulgong and Mudgee district who served in the First World War. Those who lost their lives are marked with an asterisk. Surrounding the names is a decorative border, featuring two columns with Corinthian capitals. At the base of each column is a female figure, holding a laurel wreath aloft. The columns have locations from the war written across them. At the top of the border are the Union Jack and Australian flags, flanking the Rising Sun emblem of the Australian Commonwealth Military Forces. The roll is located inside the Mudgee Soldiers Club, also known as Club Mudgee. It hangs on a wall, surrounded by military memorabilia and photographs. Also on site is the Mudgee Soldiers Club Second World War Honour Roll. Access to the memorial is restricted to the opening hours of the club.
