On the reverse side of the memorial, a second bronze plaque reads “Lest we forget. We who are left have erected this monument as a memorial to commemorate those who fought for a cause and gave their lives for it.” The memorial is dedicated to all service personnel in all conflicts. Between the well kept gardens and the back of the memorial stands a six metre high flag pole. The Australian flag is raised and lowered every day.
