Description / Background

A memorial hall dedicated to the soldiers from Ben Lomond who served in the First and Second World Wars. Honor roll tablets are also attached to the front facade of the hall. There are two tablets for each war, each inscribed with the same text. The brick frontage was constructed as a war memorial in 1919. The World War One Tablets and the Hall were dedicated on 18 June 1919.  The building has a central doorway with windows on each side to create a balanced facade. A feature of the building is the distinctive decorative brickwork, the high facade with a curved feature at the top which balances the curve at the top of the doorway as well as the urns at the top, which are reminiscent of the Victorian architectural period.

The hall and the First World War tablets were unveiled on 18 June 1919.
