Description / Background

The memorial is a concrete statue of a soldier, which has been painted gold. He is standing on a plinth, with the words 'Lest we forget' attached to the front. In 2008, the monument was relocated from Lakemba Returned Servicemen's Club, where it was originally unveiled in 1923.
