This plaque was laid by Mortdale RSL Sub Branch in appreciation to Hurstville City Council for their contribution towards this Memorial Park and Cenotaph to honour the 101,048 Servicemen and Servicewoman who paid the supreme sacrifice.

This plaque was unveiled by His Worship the Mayor of Hurstville Councillor Mick Frawley on Sunday 28th March 1999 in commemoration of the patriotism, valour and sacrifice of our servicemen and servicewomen in all wars. Clr. M O Frawley (Mayor) H E J Wallace FIMM (General Manager).

This R.A.N. Stockless Fouled Anchor is similar to that used on Australian minesweepers during World War II. It stands proudly in memory to all who served Australia in time of conflict and peace. Lest we forget. Donated by the Mackay Middleton Pilling and Kenny families.
