Auburn Methodist Church First World War Honour Roll Middle Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background The Auburn Methodist Church First World War Honour Roll is a light-coloured, rectangular timber board, with names and inscriptions in gilt lettering. At the very top of the board is a small shelf, at the centre of which is the Crown with the Union Jack and Australian flag on either side. At both ends of the shelf are further inscriptions. Below the lists of veterans’ names is a smaller, less worked shelf, beneath which is an open Triquetra, the symbol of the Trinity. There were 37 names on the roll when it was unveiled on 11 February 1917. At that stage, only three had died in the war. At the end of the war, the roll was updated to 48 names, with 11 'died in active service'. The memorial is located in its original location, on an interior wall of the Auburn Methodist Church, now the Auburn Uniting Church.
