Bingara Australia Remembers Tree Middle Image Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background This tree is dedicated to the women of Bingara who served on the homefront in the Second World War. It was planted on 20 August 1995 by the Bingara Garden Club in the Bingara Returned Servicemen's Memorial Park. A dedication plaque bearing the words 'Australia Remembers' is attached to a bushrock at the base of the trunk. The Australian Government allocated a total of $9 million to the 'Australia Remembers' campaign for commemorative events held throughout Australia to acknowledge the end of the Second World War. They were designed to remember those who served in conflict and those who contributed to the peace effort.
