They were installed in honour of Second World War veterans Flight Officer Edward Maxwell England and Sergeant Pilot Bruce Astley. The window for Edward was a gift from his parents and was unveiled by his sister, Mrs. R. Warren, on 9 February 1947. The service was reported in The Dubbo Liberal and Macquarie Advocate on 11 February. The article stated the window depicts, "a central figure of Jesus Christ with three young people looking up to Him." The window for Bruce was unveiled on 13 November 1949 by Reverend Rupert H. Hayes, who also officiated the service. The Advocate wrote about the ceremony on 15 November, including a brief biograph of Bruce's life, his role within the church and his military service.
