Bungonia Gallipoli Grove Picnic Area Middle Image Image Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background The Bungonia Gallipoli Grove Picnic Area is located within Bungonia Village Park, adjacent to the Bungonia War Memorial. It is a pleasant public garden, with a picnic table and two benches for visitors to use. The picnic area was designed as a living memorial to the six men and one woman from the Bungonia community who served at Gallipoli during the First World War. It was officially opened on Anzac Day, 25 April 2015. There are more than 20 trees growing on site, specifically chosen for the space. There are also two local bushrocks, sourced from Old Bungonia Road. One rock bears the honour roll for the seven veterans. The second contains a sign naming the grove, introducing its themes, and acknowledging the key individuals and groups involved in the project.
