Description / Background

This Lone Pine tree (Allepo Pine) is planted on the southern side of the Dunedoo War Memorial. It is accompanied by a simple sign identifying its connection to the original pine cones sent back to Australia following the First World War.

Lone Pine seedlings are available from the Australian War Memorial and many trees can be found in locations across the country, including schools and public parks. They are often planted on commemorative days.
