Description / Background

The Gordon Remembrance Clock was installed outside Ku-ring-gai Library as part of the 'Australia Remembers' campaign, a series of initiatives to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. 

The clock is an electric style. The unit itself is made of white metal, with decorative gold-coloured corner pieces. The clock face and arms are made of contrasting black metal. 

The clock is mounted on a metal post, which stands on concrete pavers. At the base of the pole is a sandstone plinth, with a bronze plaque attached. It is inscribed with details of the unveiling on 13 August 1995.

The Remembrance Clock

A tribute from the citizens of the Bradfield Electorate and of Ku-ring-gai commemorating the residents who gave their lives in World War II and those who served Australia in all other ways on the home front.

Unveiled and dedicated 13 August 1995 as part of the 'Australia Remembers 1939–1945' national programme.
