Description / Background

This war memorial is an elegant timber honour roll for the First World War. It features decorative moulding on the pediment and two carved columns, with Corinthian-style capitals.

The names of 47 members of the St Ives Public School community who served in the war are neatly printed in gold down the centre of the board.

The history of this roll is unknown; however, it is likely that it was originally unveiled at or put on display at the school. It is now located in the archives section of Ku-ring-gai Library.
