HMAS Goulburn City Memorial Middle Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background The HMAS Goulburn City Memorial was unveiled and consecrated at a ceremony in 1995, as part of the 'Australia Remembers' campaign, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. The service was attended by the surviving crew of the ship, who mainly lived in South Australia. The memorial was designed by a former student of Mulwaree High School, where the memorial is located. They chose to centre their design around an anchor from a J Class frigate. However, it is not know if it is the actual anchor was from the Goulburn. The anchor stands upon a concrete plinth, which bears the dedication plaque. Inscription Plaque To perpetuate the memory of those who served on R.A.N. Corvette J167 H.M.A.S.
