It features a circular garden bed, edged with stone blocks. Planted in the bed are numerous rose bushes and a single tree, positioned in the centre of the bed to act as a focal point. The garden was established in honour of the men of Sparrow Force and the people of East Timor who died during the Second World War. The dedication is inscribed onto a polished stone monument, which stands upright in the garden. A map of Australia is also etched into the stone. Located elsewhere in the park is the Marrickville and District Second World War Memorial.
