The Piallamore War Memorial consists of a silhouette sculpture of a soldier, holding a weapon in a reversed arms position, standing on top of a large piece of red granite. The rock is positioned in an elevated, circular garden bed, which is planted out with rosemary bushes and bordered by decorative concrete blocks. Attached to the front of the rock is the dedication plaque and a curved metal sign bearing the words 'Lest we forget' stands on the concrete blocks.
The memorial is located in the Piallamore Recreation Reserve, near the Recreation Hall. Nearby is a flagpole, which is used to fly the Australian flag during the various commemorative services held on site throughout the year.
The project was supported by two 'Saluting Their Service Grants' awarded to the Piallamore Recreation Reserve Committee in 2015. One grant was to establish the memorial and the second was to install the flagpole.
