Sydney Tramway Museum First World War Roll of Honor Middle Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background This Memorial has been recovered from its original location, most likely from a former Sydney Tramway depot, understood to have been in Enfield. The Memorial is made from timberwork with carvings, including a winged wheel within the 'Roll of honor' ribbon. The names are gilded onto a base that is in the shape of an open book. The names are not in alphabetical order as is commonly seen. The open book is framed by two Corinthian columns which support an ornate arch over the ribbon. The baseboard has been finished with a stylized cut on the left and right sides. As of the time of inspection, a lower panel was missing and the Memorial was awaiting a permanent mounting. The Memorial was noted as being inside the Museum's Display Hall. Conservation and restoration work was required on this Memorial.
