Description / Background

The small memorial garden with a flagpole is located near the front entrance of the Richmond Club. Within the small garden are two bushrock memorials set on gravel with small surrounding plants. A statue of a soldier with reversed arms indicating a mark of respect or mourning is also situated in the memorial garden.

Each bushrock has a memorial plaque attached, with the first dedicated to voluntary service and the second dedicated to military service. The three military emblems of the Royal Australian Air Force, the Australian Army and the Royal Australian Navy are also inset in the bushrock honouring those who served. This memorial recognises the link between military service and all who give voluntary service to the community.
