Richmond RAAF Base Memorial Middle Image Image Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background The memorial, made of brick and concrete, is in the shape of an aircraft set within a low circular brick wall. The tail fin of the aeroplane is raised, and embossed with the Richmond Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) base emblem. The body of the plane is represented as an outline of brick paving set in the ground. The memorial is located opposite Richmond Royal Australian Air Force base. Inscription To commemorate all service personnel who gave their lives in the service of their country while serving at RAAF Base Richmond. This monument was officially opened by the Hon Ian McLachlan AO MP Minister for Defense on 15 December 1997.
