Grevillia via Kyogle Munro and Lever Sawmill First World War Roll of Honour Middle Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background This war memorial is a simply designed timber honour board made of silky oak. It is decorated with a distinctively shaped top edge and illustrations of vines. The list of names of those who served in the First World War is presented down the centre of the board in two columns. Grevillia was named by early settlers after the silky oak trees (Grevillea robusta) in the area. The village is located thirty kilometres north of Kyogle. The timber industry was a large employer in the area, particularly with the long established Munro and Lever Sawmill. It is likely the roll would have been unveiled at the sawmill or Grevillia Hall. Today it is located in the Kyogle Historical Museum.
