This war memorial is a red-brick wall, standing on a three-level platform, which is made of the same bricks. Three pillars are incorporated into the design and these are topped by concrete blocks. Two metal flagpoles flank the memorial. Attached to the front of the wall are several plaques and one marble tablet. Each is inscribed with a dedication to a conflict in which Australia has been involved.
On the left-hand side of the wall are four separate plaques, each bearing an emblem. The emblems are of the Royal Australian Navy, Australian Army, Royal Australian Air Force, and the Merchant Navy. Opposite these is a white marble tablet for the First and Second World Wars, listed separately on the NSW War Memorials Register as the Anzacs of Greece Memorial Plaque, Kyogle.
The memorial was dedicated on Anzac Day, 25 April 1953. The momentous event was reported in the Northern Star on 27 April. The article stated:
[The] dedication of the new memorial cenotaph, and the first Kyogle dawn service before it ... helped to make the 38th anniversary of Anzac Day in Kyogle one of the most memorable ever celebrated in the town.
The cenotaph is located in Kyogle's Memorial Park, where commemorative services are held throughout the year.
