Description / Background

The Kyogle Memorial Pool was first opened to the public in early 1935. The Northern Star (Lismore), 9 February 1935 reported that the first inaugural carnival was to be held on 9 February 1935 with swimmers from Lismore and Casino to compete. 

On 6 December 1975, the Hon. I.J.F. Barraclough, Minster for Culture, Sport and Education Sport officially opened the pool. The Memorial Learners' Pool was officially opened on 6 April 1978 by the NSW Premier, the Hon. N.K. Wran.  Since that time, various alterations have taken place.
